About the Authors
Vaela Denarr (She/They/Xe or Ze/Zer) and Micah Iannandrea (They/Them) are a queer and nonbinary author pair writing about love, hope, monsters and better worlds. With the exception of their Crimson Tears series and associated prequel, they write in non-colonial, anti-orientalist settings: Worlds and conflicts not rooted in colonial violence and oppression. Though they contain some darkness and heavy themes, morally grey characters and complicated relationships, the focus is ultimately on hope, community, and the complexities of hate and love.Vaela is a polyamorous transfem nonbinary butch lesbian drawing on her deeply held convictions about love and her experience with trauma and PTSD to bring to life visceral and beautiful characters, damaged and worthy of love. Micah is a nonbinary pan/demisexual artist who supports Vaela through xer day to day despite living half a world away.
